Staying safe on the Internet!

Staying safe online requires constant vigilance and an understanding about the risks associated with the internet. We work closely with students and parents to ensure that students learn how to manage their online presence and know what to do if they ever feel at risk or upset by something that has happened on a computer or mobile device. We always encourage our students to tell a trusted adult if they are worried about any aspect of their life.

This section of our website provides useful information for students, parents and teachers about how to help children stay safe so please take some time to look at the resources available with your child.

Staying safe on the internet is extremely important and we encourage all students to think carefully about their online presence through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the increasing range of social media applications. During your Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Personal, Social Health Education lessons at The Lakes School, you will be encouraged to think about how you interact with people on the internet and take action to safeguard your identity and privacy.

By clicking the CEOP logo above, you will find additional information that will help you think about your online presence and stay safe.
